Depending on your storage needs, there are a number of things you are going to want to look for in a storage unit. Here are some options you have:

Store an RV or other vehicles inside

If you want to store your RV, your boat, or your car in an inside storage unit, then you have some other things to consider as well. You want to rent a unit that is going to make it as easy as possible to pull your vehicle in and out of. Since some of the units can be in tighter quarters, you should look at the units in person before you rent one, so you know the location of the unit is going to meet your needs in that respect. You may also want to store your RV or other types of vehicles in a unit that has climate control if you are going to be storing it in a region with extremely hot or cold seasons since these extreme temperatures can affect the vehicle in different ways. You also need to watch the height of the door to make sure there is enough clearance.

Store your household belongings

If you have to store your household belongings, then you want a unit with plenty of room to put everything in, but that also has enough room for you to go in and organize your things if this will need to be done. If you plan on sorting through boxes to determine what you want to keep, donate, or sell, then consider a unit with plenty of floor room, as well as room for tables that you can set up to sort everything on.

Store your Merchandise

If you are going to be storing merchandise for your company, then you want to think about the types of things you need to store to determine whether you need a climate-controlled unit or not. Also, if you are storing smaller items that you aren't going to need to access much, then you may be fine going with an upstairs unit in a multi-story facility. In some facilities, these units are rented for less because of their location. However, if you are going to store some merchandise that may be larger in size, then you want a downstairs unit, so you won't have to carry large and heavy items up and down stairs when putting them in the unit or removing them.
